iii. Mbuni Road
iv. Mvita Road
We are aware of pending street lights in various parts of North Coast and these concerns have
been shared with the relevant departments. Our engagement with CGM remains active and
we hope to have pending works done as sson as they sort their faulty bucket truck.
WATER – MOWASSCO

All footpaths that had been damaged by contractor(s) while installing pipes have successfully
been repaired and restored to initial state. Some of the areas are: near Mamba Roundabout
on Links Road, Mama Ngina Road and Beach Road (between Hare Krishna Mosque and
Mamba Roundabout).
Backfilling and restoration of Mama Ngina Road (before Jomo Kenyatta Junction) completed.
Pending areas awaiting fittings include Park Lane/Mvita Junction, Park Lane/Greenwood Drive
junction.
We are happy to note with satisfaction that residents of Cement Road were recently
connected with water. New piping was done MOWASSCO contractor which ended many years
of suffering by residents.
Were in constant communication with MOWASSCO to have areas with leakages addressed;
however, they’re heavily challenged in acquisition of fittings and spares.
Jamhuri and Coral Drive water supply is troubled by low pressure experienced. However,
MOWASSCO is looking into it.
COURTESY CALLS
National Construction Authority – Shimanzi
Regarding the increased developments around Old Nyali, NCA informed they only come in to
enforce compliance and regulations whereas CGM Planning & Physical Dept. is mandated to
approve developmental projects and control.
NCRRA were requested to actively engage CGM and other relevant stakeholders so as to
achieve developmental control in Nyali.
CGM Department of Transport, Infrastructure & Public Works – Shimanzi
The terrible state of roads in Nyali was discussed in length and CGM committed to have all
incomplete roads i.e Nyoka Road completed in the new financial year. They had earlier been
challenged by lack of funds and resources, loss of revenue occasioned by COVID also meant
no new projects would have been launched.
Among the roads that would be resurfaced are Greenwood Drive, Ziwani Road which had
already been surveyed for the purpose. Drainage issue on Neem Avenue would also be fully
addressed.
Meanwhile all projects have been suspended by the current governor as he gets his office in
order.
Further courtesy calls with the County Governor and Nyali MP are in the pipeline and would
be announced anytime soon.
NOISE COMPLAINTS

All current noise complaints emanating from Bars, Restaurants and Gym have been taken into
consideration by the Committee. Hon. Chairman met and spoke with the Gym Manager on
Jomo Kenyatta who agreed to tone down the volume levels experienced early mornings but
has now resorted to playing loud music in the evenings esp. Thursdays. A letter to NEMA & CGM will be sent out to address the noise issue from the Gym and Bars/Restaurants.
Noise from Mosques will also be addressed through the leadership structures in place such
as SUPKEM. We hope this will help resolve the ongoing issue amicably.
